Our last summer project - an art installation for kids
Since we were in Quebec this summer, & posting everything in French on OR journal and on our facebook page (oups!), here is a little update for our dearest Hong Kong people.

Next summer, both television channels, ARTV & Radio-Canada, will broadcast an art documentary program that will feature Canadian artists & designers. The aim of the documentary is to present the creative process behind the work of emergent artists. We (Maxime & Nadine for OR play) were invited to create an ephemeral art installation for children at the Place Royale. We were blessed - Place Royale is the cradle of French civilization in North America, as well as an UNESCO World Heritage site. Incredibly beautiful.

Installation à la Place Royale de Québec
Depuis les derniers mois, nous avons été occupés à concevoir une installation artistique pour les enfants dans l’un des plus anciens lieux de Québec, la Place Royale. Éphémère, cette installation est une création spéciale pour la nouvelle émission de télévision documentaire « Rendez-vous » qui sera diffusée à ARTV et à Radio-Canada l’an prochain. Joignez-vous à nous, avec ou sans vos enfants, pour le tournage de l’émission ce vendredi 20 juillet de 12 h à 15 h. D’ici là, voici quelques images du making-of!
Mayuka Yamamoto
Yamamoto, a japanese artist, depicts children with various animal features. In her work, the artist explores the ideas of natural instinct, parenthood and childhood. The little boys in her paintings are mysterious, like animals, they seem to belong to a enigmatic and serene world.

La ville / The City
We love the countryside, as well as the city. We are fascinated by the urban world and the artistic explorations that it inspires. Here an ode to the cities with the video work of the artist Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster > Parc Central.

Parc Central is composed of 11 short poetic psycho-geographic portraits of cities and spaces around the globe. This collection of films explore the ideas of urban “ambience” and tropical melancholia. A great dialogue between West and East. Here is the video of Hong Kong & of Buenos Aires (below).

Un Grafika pour OR / First design award!
La semaine dernière, à Montréal, avait lieu la 15e édition du concours Grafika. À chaque année, le concours Grafika célèbre les meilleures réalisations en design graphique au Québec. OR a remporté un prix avec le livre Herbier dans le volet - Livre couplet -. Très contents!
The 15th edition of the Grafika Awards was last week in Montreal. Each year, Grafika recognizes the best and the most innovative graphic design projects in Quebec. OR won an award with the Herbarium book, in the category - Complete Book -. We are happy!

Gigantic shapes+colors
Mural is a ancient, inexpensive and striking form of art ! A great mural can turn a monotonous public space into a surprising place and bright up the every day live of many individuals. The work of street artists Rimon Guimarães, Remed and Nelio are wonderful examples of how simple shapes and colors can transform the urban landscape.
